  10. Back on the Choose an option screen, click Continue and start your computer normally

If this didn’t help, you can try some of the following solutions.

Second method:

  1. If Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 fails to start correctly you will have to choose the “See advanced repair options”.

  23. Reboot the Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 operating system normally.
  24. Check to see if it still gives you the BSOD message.

Third method:

We will have to check the memory to make sure it is properly placed into the socket and it is functioning correctly.
Note: It is always a safe bet to try and change it with another memory or change the slot in which it is plugged into the motherboard and reboot the Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 to see if it starts.

Fourth method:

You will have to check the hard drive to see if it can function correctly so make sure that it is plugged in correctly into your device and again if you have a spare hard drive try changing it to see if it starts correctly.

Now if your operating system starts and it only gives you this “Kernel Security Check failure” message occasionally follow the steps below:

First Method:

  1. Left click or tap on the link posted below to download the driver update tool
  2. Click here to download Driver Reviver
  3. Now run this application by following the instructions on the screen to find out what drivers are out of date and update them using the same application.

Second Method:

  1. Run a full system virus and malware scan with your antivirus.
  2. If it found a threat you will need to remove it by using the same antivirus.
Note: If the antivirus cannot remove the virus first you should try installing a different antivirus to see if it works, if it does not then you will most likely have to restore your operating system to a point where you did not had this issue or completely reinstall the operating system.

Third Method:

  1. Press and hold the “Windows” button and the “E” button.
  2. Now you should have the Computer window in front of you.
Note: Depending on how many partitions you have you will have to do the steps below for all of them.
  3. Right click on the partition.
  4. Left click or tap on the “Properties” feature present in the menu that pops up.
  5. Left click or tap on the “Tools” tab situated in the upper side of the “Properties” window.
  6. From the Tools feature left click or tap on the “Check” button under the “Error Checking” topic.
  7. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish the error checking and also choose the “Repair Drive” option if Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 has found errors on the drive.
Note: This process can be very time consuming so depending on the hard drive’s memory it can go between half an hour and two hours before it is done.

The steps above will show you how to fix the “Kernel Security Check failure” error message in your Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 but if there is a hardware failure of the HDD or the RAM memory in your device you will most likely have to change it with a new one.
